Elli June, Oaklyn's best friend

Elli June moved away this week. It brought tears to my eyes to see the hurt on Oaklyn's face. Elli has been Oaklyn's very best friend for the past three years or so. They've played many many hours together. Elli always let Oaklyn boss her around. She didn't seem to mind playing the "prince" and loved to take Oaklyn to the make believe ball. She was always the sweetest little friend to Oaklyn. Oaklyn always blesses Elli June in her prayers. We'll miss her so much.

Oaklyn is growing up so fast. I can't believe she's four and a half. She's such a good helper around the house. She says the funniest things. The other day she said, "I'm freakin' out! The baby's crying is freakin' me out!" She loves to win (I wonder where she gets that from...lol). In fact when we're eating breakfast in the morning, she has to be the first one finished. She loves her dance class and loves to sing. Her blue eyes are so pretty and her red hair is so unique. Her newest favorite activity is to make a tent and play in it all day.

Man Cold....AAAAHHHH

I couldn't resist sharing this experience with all of you. I've been chuckling about it all day!

http://glumbert.com/wii/view.php?name=mancold

It's the end of the world! Dan has been sick for the past day or so, and he showed me this video (click link above). He was dead serious. It made me laugh that he thought that a "man cold" was actually a legitimate sickness. He spent several minutes trying to explain that colds "hit men harder" than anyone else. I laughed in his face.

If you have ever had a husband who is sick, you'll appreciate this link! HA HA! They are such babies when they are sick, aren't they!

I felt kind of bad for laughing, because he really is sick so I made him some Lipton Chicken Noodle soup. (This is the soup that he insists on when he's sick...no substitutions).

Ice fishing at Minersville Lake

Yesterday I went ice fishing with my father in law and my brother in law Phil. Needless to say it was colder than a witches you know what! We caught about 15 or so but none of them were long enough to keep. Still all in all it was a fun day on the lake... frozen lake!

Londyn's Nursery

I had so much fun designing and decorating Londyn's nursery, and I had to share some photos. My mom helped me make the baby bedding (which was super hard, by the way). I thought it turned out so cute. The next step is for her to actually sleep in it.

We've had a rough few days again. I finally took Londyn back to the dr. this morning. She still has a urinary tract infection. She just barely finished her antibiotic yesterday. So, unfortunately, I'm afraid she's prone to them and we'll have to really watch her from here on out. Boy is she fussy. Although she's really fussy, she is so cute and her little faces make me smile. She loves her binky (thank goodness!) and she wants to be held all the time. She is starting to grin. YAY!

Octopus Hot Dog....NEVER AGAIN

Ok, so I thought I would be creative and use this kid cookbook that my mom gave me. I was pretty proud of myself for making something fun for the kids instead of the same 'ol stuff. I thought the hot dog octopus would be a hit with the kids....boy was I wrong. What a waste of food. The kids were a little freaked out by the whole thing. They wouldn't touch it. I still think that the display turned out pretty cute with the "green" Ramon noodles as seaweed! Ya live and ya learn...

3rd time mom???

I swear I don't feel like I've been a mom twice before this. My poor little Londyn has a urinary tract infection. I knew she was fussy, but she's been fussy on and off since she was born. The thought never even crossed my mind. I swear you learn so many things being a mom. Who knew about all these mystery sicknesses that babies can get? My first two babies had acid reflux, we've gone through thrush many many times, and now a urinary tract infection in a two month old...YIKES. I'm very glad to have pediatricians that know what they are doing. She's on some meds, and I hope she starts feeling better soon. Having a fussy baby is no fun for baby and for mommy!

New Camera

We finally got the digital camera that we ordered for our Christmas present. Dan has been playing with it non-stop since it came. I think it takes really good pictures. I'm excited to take lots and lots of pictures of the kids. :)

Orangutan Hair

Londyn's hair cracks me up! Whenever we get her out of the bathtub it sticks straight up. Dan's aunt DeAnne calls it "orangutan" hair. I love that she has so much hair, our other two were bald.

Londyn's Blessing Day

We blessed Londyn on Sunday and it was great to have several family members come to support us. We had several others that couldn't come, and we completely understand. Poor Chris and the McRib...yikes! I'll never eat one of those because of his experience! The weather was pretty rough, and I feel bad that people had to drive through snow storms to get home. I'm glad that everyone got home safely.

We didn't have any room in our house to accommodate so many people, so we cleaned out the garage and put heaters in there and it worked out really well.

Kallie Inspired Me.

So, welcome to the Ulrich Family blog. I went on a "girls night out" with some of my friends tonight. Kallie started talking about her blog and how she hopes it will help capture some great moments to remember in the future. I went straight home and created this. I really want to remember the great moments in our cute little family. I want to remember the funny things my kids say, the great moments I have being a mom, and I think writing it down in this blog is a great way to save those memories. I'm officially a blogger.
