New Book Needed...Any Suggestions?

I need a new book to read. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have to admit, I haven't read anything lately that has REMOTELY kept my attention as well as the Twilight Saga...I need some help. Or maybe I just need to realize that NOTHING will ever be as good. :)

So, if you've read a good book lately that you'd give a 5 star rating, let me know ASAP!

Have you read the other book by Stephanie Meyer. The Host. It isn't as good as Twilight but it is pretty good.

you need to join goodreads. Then you can always have suggestions from your friends. I LOVED The Other Boylen Girl by Phillpia Gregory. I started reading all of her books after that one. I would give it a try. My mom loved it too.

Have you read Children of the Promise? I think that's what the title of the series is. It's by Dean Hughes, LDS based, very good. I loved all of them.

I have a GREAT book for you! It's called The Wedding & it's by Nicholas Sparks...it's the sequel to The Notebook (It was a book that was made into a movie!) I loved it!! One of my friends loaned it to me when I was first put on bed rest & wasn't SO sick of reading yet!! I would HIGHLY recommend it! Also, the book your Mom-in-Law Julie loaned to me when I was in the hospital called The Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews was REALLY good, too! It's fast reading & I liked it a LOT! You'll have to pass on what you read & what you THINK!!

LOVE YA!!!

I just finished reading Susan Kirby's series of Prarie Rose, As the Lily Grows, and When the Lilacs Bloom. I loved them. They are set during the early 1900's and follows a young woman's life in Illinois as she overcomes family sorrow, a move to a new town and yes a budding romance...I had to read all three. (But this definitely isn't like Twilight.)

I also really liked The Host. If you like WWII stuff I Night by Elie Weizel is really good. I also LOVE the Chronicles of Narnia series by CS Lewis. I listened to the books on tape which are really well done.

I loved The Children of the Promise series, too. SO good. If you want something more light, the Shopaholic series is so fun! Or any Sophie Kinsella book. I seriously laugh out loud while I'm at the gym working out when I'm reading her books. They are really fun books.

I'm a big fan of fantasy, the two series I have started! Tamora Pierce's "Tricksters Choice" and "Tricksters Queen" the other is actually a teen series called "Fablehaven". IF you are not a fantasy fan Dan Browns "Angels and Demons" and "DaVinci Code" are both Great reads. I am constantly looking for good books so if any of the above strike you let me know! Glad to see you are allowed to read now ;)

Ok so I read a lot f children's books (so don't hold it against me) and a series I have fallen in love with is the Sisters Grimm. It is based on the Brothers Grimm fairytales. Your kids would love it too, so you could read it to them or alone. It has all the fairytale creatures in it and is somewhat of a mystery. Like I said it is a written for older children, but it is very well written. As you go on in the series they get more complex and written for older readers. They really are cute books.

Like has been mentioned before, The Host by Stephanie Meyer. Just beware that it's a little strange in the beginning, go with it. After about the first 100 pages, it really picks up. I also love Shannon Hale's books. They're all fabulous, but Goose Girl is my fav. The young adult ones are fairy-tale-ish and the adult one is about a woman getting over her Mr. Darcy obsession. She has a couple more books coming out this year too. And then there's I Am David. It's also incredible. :)

Ah, for all you "Host" fans,it's not that good of a book...compared to what is out there. As Ashley mentions, Brooke, The Other Boylen Girl would be a great book. My all time favorite book (and you know I read a lot) is Katherine by Anya Seton. It is an amazing true story! My mom is reading it right now but I'll get it to you when she is done. I also have another true story called Follow the River that is really good.

I love The Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale. They are: The Goose Girl, Enna Burning, and River Secrets. The last one in the series, "Forest Born" comes out in August. They are young adult fiction. So fun. Also, I love your photography. I wished I lived closer so you could show me your photoshop tricks!
